چکیده
High salinity is becoming more common in industrial process water and final effluents, particularly when striving to close loops. There limited knowledge on the anaerobic treatment of chemical wastewaters characterized by distinct fluctuations. This study investigates high fluctuating effects conversion capacity membrane filtration performance an bioreactor (AnMBR) treating phenol-containing wastewater. The AnMBR operated for 180 days with sodium concentrations between 8 37 gNa+.L?1. At ? 26 gNa+.L?1, approximately 99% COD phenol removal efficiencies were achieved. decreased 86 82%, respectively, while biomass specific methanogenic activity was 0.12 ± 0.05 gCOD-CH4.gVSS?1.d?1. Due large fluctuations, reduced 45% but recovered ? 88%. Compared conversion, methanogenesis severely affected. Calculations showed a maximum in-situ rate 25.5 mgPh.gVSS?1.d?1. Concomitantly, integrity compromised, median particle size dropped from 65.6 4.3 ?m, resulting transmembrane pressure increase above 400 mbar. Cake layer resistance contributed 85% total resistance. Nonetheless, all effectively retained AnMBR. A change 14 gNa+.L?1 substantially microbial richness diversity. community dominated Bacteria belonging Clostridiales Archaea orders Methanosarcinales Methanobacteriales. Our findings demonstrate AnMBRs as suitable techniques water, possible subsequent reclamation, phenols largely levels.

Effect of sludge pretreatment on the performance of anaerobic/ anoxic/ oxic membrane bioreactor treating domestic wastewater
In the present study, two bench-scale anaerobic/ anoxic/ oxic submerged membrane bioreactors were used to study the effect of thermochemical sludge disintegration system on the excess sludge production. Among the two membrane bioreactors, one was named experimental membrane bioreactor and another one was named as control membrane bioreactor, where a part of the mixed liquor was treated with the...
متن کاملStudy on Anaerobic/Aerobic Membrane Bioreactor Treatment for Domestic Wastewater
A 69-day experimental study was conducted to investigate the treatment process of municipal wastewater using submerged membrane bioreactor technology. The results show that the average removal rate of COD and BOD5 were over 90%. The removal rate of NH3-N was 99% and the concentration of effluent NH3-N was below 0.5mg/L; because of the high DO value in the denitration sect, the denitrobacteria w...
متن کاملDecolourisation of textile wastewater in a submerged anaerobic membrane bioreactor.
Azo dye decolourisation can be easily achieved by biological reduction under anaerobic conditions. The aim of this study was to evaluate the applicability of submerged anaerobic membrane bioreactors (SAMBRs) for the decolourisation of dyeing wastewater containing azo dyes. The reactive orange 16 was used as model of an azo dye. The results demonstrated that very high decolourisation (higher tha...

The effect of backwash frequency (15, 30 and 60 min) and influent flux (3.75, 7.50 and 11.25 L/h/m) on fouling amelioration in an innovative external side-stream dead-end microfiltration anaerobic membrane bioreactor (AnMBR) for the treatment of domestic wastewater at 25EC was investigated. During 6 months of reactor operation, a constant COD removal of 88% and an accumulation of 350 mg TSS/L/d...
